Can I get housing benefit if I have a mortgage?

Is It Fair That 20% Of Housing In New Private Developments Goes To Housing Benefit Tenants?

  • Hi, another ****** up labour policy: 1)Any new housing development must put aside 20% of the housing towards people who are seeking accommodation through housing benefit. I know this all to well, near to where i live they have just housed about 20 africans in luxury apartments in a supposed new private development. If i was a person who had a mortgage on a house in the same development i would seriously feel let down and astonished that someone who hasn't paid anything into the system can just come along and get a top class house, while i was expected to slave away to pay a mortgage. Its not only that but they bring the whole area down already where i live you can hear arguments in the street and see how untidy and dirty the place is becoming. How can labour think this is a good thing? Its basically suppressing the good hardworking people of the country who are only trying to better themselves. Ps Wish i could get a luxury apartments for f all (maybe i should start talking in a foreign accent)

  • Answer:

It is a disgrace that they get brand new builds while people struggle to save a deposit for such properties. If they're foreign they shouldn't be getting benefits and if they are not paying into the system they should be given cheap properties on the outskirts of the city.
