Are Amazon.com prices Real?

Cab I tell callers what our condo prices are even if I don't have a Real Estate License?

  • I'm onsite staff, and people are calling in asking for prices. From what I understand, you have to have real estate license to even tell people what your prices are on the phone. Is my mgr right, or can I say things like, "prices begin in the low 100s"? What's the rule on this in Nevada/US?

  • Answer:

Ask your employer for the guidelines. Probably you cannot discuss prices, but can hand out brochures.

In Illinois a non-licensed person can only say what is in print. So if you have a marketing flyer infront of you that was prepared and approved by someone with a license that says "2 bedrooms start at $130,000" then you can say that, but only that. Not sure about Nevada, but I think this is pretty typical.

Your manager is overly cautious. Most states will allow a person such as yourself to give limited information (such as that in a brochure) without having a real estate license. The information you are providing is not specific and should not be of any concern. In my state (WI), information from a data sheet can be read over the telephone without any repercussions by a person such as yourself.
