Split the monthly cost 3 ways. It's also a good idea to split all shared things 3 ways. This will avoid arguments over someone paying more than their fair share. Create a set of rules before moving in together. ie no pets, no overnight guests, or no guests staying more than x number of days without everyone agreeing beforehand. Apartments usually require 30 days notice, but it might be good to require each person to provide 60 days notice before the lease is up in order to avoid nasty issues of one person wanting to move, but the rest don't and the 2 left can't afford it on their own. 60 days gives a better chance of finding a replacement roommate. I can't think of anything else.

Now apartments rent is rising up to $1500 and higher. But if you are looking for Cheep apartment then look for ghetto apartments rent is about $1000 higher. Since theirs three of you spilt the rent money, or one pays rent while the other buys food or water and power.
