Moving out and i need advice?
-
im moving out of my parents home in the fall, with my boyfriend and our friend. we are currently looking at places close to work. i was hoping maybe i could get advice on things that dont come to mind when you first move. preferably a list of things that we will need that arent obvious or are so obvious we would over look them. id also like to ask for advice on money managment so that we know exactly how much we need and have to spend each month. if you think of anything that would help please feel free to contribute. thank you

Answer:
get a mediator to settle tenant BF/friend disputes cause one good dispute can ruin the relationship and if one of you moves out early............the others are responsible.

Remember, do not allow any one to bring a pet, as the three of you are responsible for the damages that will occur. I've witnessed this a hundred times.
There are lots of things to take care of. Your portion of rent shouldn't exceed 30% of your monthly income Remember all the bills that are needed electricity water (if the apartment doesn't pay it) food clothing entertainment cable/internet phone car car insurance gas for car possibly gas for heat insurance (health and renter's) You'll need furnishings for the apartment: Kitchen dishes silverware bakeware pots mixing bowls utensils for cooking small electrics like blender, coffee maker, etc glasses microwave if one isn't built in rest of apartment TV couch bed mattress/springs computer decorative stuff dvd player table/chairs sheets blankets towels/wash clothes shower curtain and hooks/possibly shower rod bath mat Make sure everyone living there is on the lease. Split the monthly cost 3 ways. It's also a good idea to split all shared things 3 ways. This will avoid arguments over someone paying more than their fair share. Create a set of rules before moving in together. ie no pets, no overnight guests, or no guests staying more than x number of days without everyone agreeing beforehand. Who is going to be responsible for chores like cleaning? What if one of you needs quiet time and someone else is making noise? What are the rules for notifying the other roommates of intent to vacate? Apartments usually require 30 days notice, but it might be good to require each person to provide 60 days notice before the lease is up in order to avoid nasty issues of one person wanting to move, but the rest don't and the 2 left can't afford it on their own. 60 days gives a better chance of finding a replacement roommate. I can't think of anything else.
Now apartments rent is rising up to $1500 and higher. But if you are looking for Cheep apartment then look for ghetto apartments rent is about $1000 higher. Since theirs three of you spilt the rent money, or one pays rent while the other buys food or water and power.
