What is a realistic budget when renting in Philly?

How to Budget a Multi-Person Renting Situation?

  • Before my friends and I move into a house/apartment together we want to get some information on budgeting. Together there is four of us and then half the time my friends young son. We all make an average of $150-$200 a week so about $2400- $3200 a month between the four of us. My fiance, as of July, will have an apprenticeship with a local plumbing company and that will be a steadier source of income. We'd like to know a good way to budge, if anyone has spreadsheets that's be appreciated. We'd like to know what are some Do's and Don'ts of renting. Should we split the costs of furniture and utility bills, and how to budget for food and other living on your own expenses. We're all pretty young, Three of us are 18 and one is 21 so living on our own will be pretty new to us. Thank you in advance.
