If we want to rent a house but don't have a job can you offer them the first 6 months rent money up front?

We both are currently full time employed, but we are moving to a town 3hrs away and don't have job there yet. (Seachange) So if i offer the first 6 months rent up front ( which I do have) While we find jobs, will the real estate agent let us do that, We've had stable jobs for the past 10 years ( im 25yrs old) and so has my BF (28yrs) we are both professionals. We already own a house that we rent out. Will all this track record matter to them ? We don't want to get jobs before we get there.

Congratulations for being so thorough and in these uncertain times, I would welcome you as tenants upon satisfactory verification of your information. As a property manager/real estate broker for about 20 years, expect some questions and background checking by the owner/manager to verify your information. Everything matters and the longer a property manager has been in the business, the more likely to have heard every conceivable story and trust their "gut" instinct in making a final determination. Don't forget that there will be a security deposit and if you have pets, a pet deposit (or fee which may or may not be refundable) so be sure to ask those questions too. What area are you moving to in case you are coming to my area, I would send you an app Depending on your professions, be sure to check the job market in the area you want to move to and be sure to ask make sure the property you want to rent is not in distress. Yes. You may be able to pull that off. Landlords are looking for collateral, such as a paycheck or an asset. If something goes wrong with the rental, they need to go after that collateral to pay for damages after the court judgement is issued. You own property. That may do it for you.
Yes, you can offer this. Each Landlord is different. Would you accept this type of situation with your rental? You never know.. doesn't hurt to try. The million dollar question is if you will find a Landlord willing to accept this.
I tried that when I moved to a new town years ago and was surprised that they would not take my money. Just the opposite of what I expected. If I were you I would certainly give it a try though. The economy is different now and things have changed.
