Can i find out who lived in my house in 50 yrs ago for free?

    Ask your neighbours...if they've lived in the house for a while...or the local library may know of a local historian who has done research in your area.

You don't. You can certainly find out who owned it but not who actually lived there. If the property was ever rented out you will not find that information. Leases are not public information.

Go to library and check out the reverse address directories Go to county and check out title on your place

In the USA the title company maintains an "abstract" which is a record of all owners of the house since it was built. If you're the owner of the house, you own the abstract and can look at (and even take it) anytime you want.

Drive down to the records office and do the research.

The title deeds will record the owners.
