• Question? Can we rent a 1200 dollar home in Austin, Texas? Here is the situation: A couple of years ago, we got way in too deep with credit cards, and had to decide rather to pay bills (rent, utilities) or credit card. We defaulted on credit cards. Now my credit score if 591 and husband's is 659. We bring in over 5500 a month, already pay 900 dollars in rent. We have rented at same apartment for over 3 years, have never been late at all. Always have paid utility bills, and student loans. We just paid one credit card off (Ashley furniture). We paid off a car 6 months ago and have never missed a payment on the other one? We both have been at our jobs for the state of Texas for over 5 years. FYI: we will not be moving until march 2011 (lease not up). What do you think the odds are about renting the home?

  i think you will have good luck, the problem with an agency is they are stricter with credit than a private homeowner... good luck!
