How do I find out what happened to a house?

Need Help I am trying to find out if anything unusual happened in the house i want to buy For example if?

  • anyone got killed, if someone died there etc. Is there a webpage i can find out?? please help!! i want to look it up online! Thanks for your help

No, there is no Carfax report for a house. You can try googling the house address, but then you have to hope a news paper article was written that included the address. I doubt you'll find anything, but good luck!

If something happened that was in the papers its very possible that it will end up in yahoo or google. Try searching for the address. i found out one house that we thought about looking at had a triple murder in it and that was why it was now on the market. No chance we were buying THAT house!!

it won't be online, Newspaper morgue, local historical society, library

Ask who you bought it from. they must give full disclosure on that type of info. If you find out they lied you can sue.

Is it because you think it's haunted? That's what scary about moving into a new house, you never know what happened there! I'm in the process of moving and always wondered the same thing.

You can ask for a full disclosure on the property (it is in writing) if the owner/Realtor do not provide this to you; you can sue and get damages. Or ask the local police dept. or neighbors if you do not want to go through the trouble of making a purchase and finding out later.
