Where can I get a copy of deed(land record)?

They paid off a long time ago but not sure if they ever received a paid off letter from the mortgage company.   A copy of the deed, which you can get at your local courthouse, won't tell you if a lien has been satisfied. When a mortgage is paid in full, the mortgagee should provide a "satisfaction of mortgage." It's usually up to the property owner to record the satisfaction.
