How can I get a copy of my permanent school record?

Where can I get a copy of deed(land record)?

  • Does it call Trusted Deed? I am trying to get a copy of deed for my parent's house to check if the lien against has cleared? They paid off a long time ago but not sure if they ever received a paid off letter from the mortgage company. Will the truested deed tell if the mortgage company release the lien? 1) Is it called trusted deed? 2) Can I get a copy from the county land record department? 3) Is there a charge typically to get a copy? Thanks much.

  • Answer:

A copy of the deed, which you can get at your local courthouse, won't tell you if a lien has been satisfied. When a mortgage is paid in full, the mortgagee should provide a "satisfaction of mortgage." It's usually up to the property owner to record the satisfaction. In many counties this information is available online. Google "clerk of the courts" and your county's name. realtor.sailor
