How much should I bring for parking on South Street in Philly?

What to do about sharing a parking spot with my roommate?

  • I'm a college student living in a 2-bedroom apartment in an apartment complex. There are 3 of us living here and only 2 spots to park. I agreed to let my roommate (who i share a room with) have the 2nd parking slot since I did not bring my car from home when school started. Now I would like to bring my car because I need it but now the issue is the parking space. My roommate has been parking in our slot for many months now and I'm certain he would not like to share parking. My other roommate (who lives in the single bedroom) owns the apartment so I wont be able to share with him. Since our complex sucks, if you extra cars, parking is a hassle and you would have to resort to finding the open, unreserved parking (hard to find sometimes) or park on the street (which is another hassle). So my question is, how should I tell him that I want to share the slot in a way that does not cause conflict and so that the roommate relationship goes smoothly? Basically, how should I tell him that we need to share the parking slot? Thanks!!

  • Answer:

You cant share a parking spot that is only large Enif for one car.you have to talk about it calmly and ultimately at both your ages it will end up a first come basis. If this is the worst thing you are going to have to deal with your in good shape.Your grown ups deal with it in a grown up way rock paper scissors every morning before school.

My idea is to tell your roommates that you are going to be using a car. Tell them that you'd like to draw up a schedule with them so that the three of you have equal use of the parking spaces. Post the schedule on the refrigerator. (You'll be rotating the use the the two spaces between the three of you.) Good luck!
