Pay pal? better to receive a personal check or send it to your account?

hi i'm new to the whole pay pal thing and im looking to sell something to a guy from another part of the u.s. how does it work? the item i'm selling is $125 so how will i receive that money from pay pal. it says that i can setup a bank account or request a personal check? also with the fees, which method of me recieving the payment will i get more money when the fee takes effect? thanks

Answer:
When your buyer sends the payment, PayPal will take its 3% fee for handling the money and hold the rest in your online account until you specifically ask for it. When you do, withdrawing it by check will cost another $1.50 (postage, printing the check, etc.). Having it deposited into your bank account is free.
