How do I help my mom manage money better?

  • We aren't poor.. we're actually quite well off but, my mom can't manage her money so, yeah. Every time I try to talk to her about it she says I don't know what I'm talking about and shoes me off. Yet, she's always signing me up for sh*t I don't want to do that costs lots of money (like soccer camp and going to taco bell constantly even if I cook.. wtf?) and the stuff I actually want I don't have any money for. I kind of wish I could get like X amount of money a month and take care of myself honestly because she always wants to buy a bunch of crap that costs a ton of money like junk food that won't last long. Gah. It really gets on my nerves. Then, I never get the stuff I want like clothes for school (She gives me $100 before school starts but, trust me.. it doesn't go far and that's all I get for the whole year) It really makes me angry. I can't get a job yet because I can't drive so how do I talk to my mom about it without her thinking I'm being a smart *ss? Because I'm seriously not. She just does stuff like wastes gas in her car and buys stupid crap like DirectTv that nobody watches (yes.. our 2 years is up. She can get rid of it now) and it really makes me angry. We should have a lot of money left over at the end of the month with what she makes yet, we don't. Every time I try to bring it up she tells me I'm a kid and that I don't understand. Help here?

The aged get a lot of legal and medical bills clearly the gap in health insurance when one private hospital sends a million bits of paper and a private health fund says we will negotiate once you get all the bills and they drag on from two months after leaving a hospital clearly private hospitals with their ad one bits are marketing themselves out of biz by greedy surgeons pathology and et al taking too long to bill being too keen to use debt recovery and blacken credit ratings and heck a lawwyer inst going to get their para legal to argue a no gap policy which charging a gap on emergency admission where being forced to sign a waver is illegal under duress laws are they not going to treat a private hospital patient because they refuse to sign a bit of paper where the something for nothing brigade look almost criminal whatever happended to the hospital sending one bill with an admin dept that works I dont care what the religion debt collection when a helth fund says wait for the bills to come in is extreme bastardry!!!! Hey good luck with your mom I will keep her in my prayers as I do all the aged cares!!!

as sad as it may seem parents are stuck in there ways. Your best bet is to set her down and have a frank discussion with her and tell right up front that she is acting a fool and that even a "child" like your self can pick up on it. Make a clear and direct list of things she does and write in examples of when these things happened. Do a little bit of math work and figure out how much each of thous things cost and total it at the end. Having the facts and figure to show to her face will help her wake up and realize just how much she spends. I had to do that with my mother addiction to cigarette's i even made a little chart showing just how much she has wasted in her life on them. over $22,000 in cigarettes that's enough for a down payment on a house or a new car i pointed out to her. doing something as simple as this like say she spends what 30 a week in fast food that's around 1500 by the end of the year. That's a nice chunk of change if you really think about it.

I can understand what ya saying and what you are going thru. That is the exactly same thing ma did to me... she was like 'i know better than you! you are just a child" I keep told her to text me if she was going get me foods because after 7pm I would be hungry and cook up already. She is often coming home with fast food. I was groaning and saying "Nah ...I aint eat that, you better put it in refridge so I can eat it later" Dad is the same way, but I told him to call telling her what he would bring home 'cuz I am vegan . He knows I don't like dairy. He has nacho with melted cheese (I dislike it!) but expected me to eat it because he paid it. I said no, I already told him for one year, million times. I DON't DO DAIRY ! HE WAS STUBBORN and THOUGHT I WOULD EAT if HE PAID FOR IT? Foruntaly, mom had my back and told him to go back and correct it. I can see what you are going thru. IT IS SAME WITH MY BROTHER THAT THINK HE MAKES A LOT MONEY AT JOB . WHEN HE SUPPOSES GOT MY LUNCH AT TACO BELL. HE GOT TWO WRONG orders, TWO COVERED IN CHEESE BUT I FOUND OUT HE WILL NOT RETURN IT BACK. HE ONLY USE HIS OWN MONEY TO GET TWO NEW REPLACEMENTS. soon he got none money, i told him "who fault is that? he was supposed to return them in first place to save money" It is just different opinion of their that thinking spending money on you meaning or showing you "love" . Love is priceless, there is no priced tag on that. That is why everyone keeps giving money no matter, if they poor or not When you are loving an another one , you will not see price but wanting pay for what is worth to make another one happy. I didn't have a job yet, and my brother is supervisior at cell phone so lot money but I lend him $200 for ulitily bills abt 4 months ago even thru I was broke , I didn't bother asking for repay because loving him is larger than I expected.
