How long does it take the recipient to get their money from paypal?

If some one sends you a money request on paypal how long does it take the money to get into your account?

  • I am selling my phone on craigslist and i sent the buyer a money request. and he confirmed it and the money was pending. i was just wondering how long does it take for the money to get into your account. im just trying to avoid getting scamed. THANKS !

What reason is the payment from the buyer pending? Ask buyer if he paid with an e-check. Thats the only time I have ever had a pending payment.Then you have to claim it when it clears. If this is an e-check it could take 5 days. If buyer says he already paid with credit card or bank account it should be instantly processed. If the person is in the UK or Africa, forget it. Even if the payment seems to clear, it will bounce back later as being counterfeit. It could be the Nigerian scam. The buyer only has to make the payment to your email address.
