Setting up an account online people can donate money to?

A classmate of mine was recently killed in an accident. Members of my class and I want to donate money for flowers and for his widow but we all live so far apart that it isn't like we can quickly get cash to each other. Is there anyway we can set up a donation site thru the internet that people can transfer money into and a designated person can withdraw the money from??

You could also mail a check to that person. A bit old fashioned but it works.
