Can i open two current accounts at Natwest?

Can I have two different accounts with NatWest?

  • Hi Since May of last year, I have been using the "adapt account" as that was the only account I could receive at the time. However, it does not allow direct debits and I am looking to take out a mobile phone contract which has to be paid for by direct debit. So just now, I applied for the "step account" which allows direct debits. It also mentioned a visa debit card which is much better than my current solo card. Being a novice to banks and how they operate, I am asking whether it is possible to have two different accounts at the same bank? Thanks.

  • Answer:

You can have as many accounts as you wish normally. If you have an adapt and are over 18 then this can be directly upgraded to an adult account. Or you can open an additional account. If you can have the current plus then that is better than the step account as the step account is basic and will not allow you to have credit card, loans or overdrafts if you ever want one in the future.
