How to save coupons from websites like coupons.com?

I am inspired to save money - please help!?

  • Hello, Yesterday morning there was a topic on the radio I heard about a woman who spends .37 a week on grocery's. the family stock piles the freezer and saves hundreds of dollars a month on clipping coupons. this has inspired me to start putting in extra work and clip coupons. We just purchased a freezer a month ago and have slowly been filling it up. but this has really opened my eyes. So today I start googling sites for coupons on products I need to buy (horizon organic milk, diapers, ect...) I am pulling nothing. I have printed only from Targets website $10 worth of coupons (which I might only use 3 of them) I am at work and have noticed a lot of sites are blocking me from printing. I just want to know... is it this hard? I could only find coupons when I pull up the store directly (i.e. king soopers, safeway, target) I am not getting to lucky by pulling up the websites directly. I have signed up for what seems to be around 5 or 6 websites. I hope I don't get flooded with junk emails (its a secondary e-mail, but I still use it) any advice or tips will be greatly appreciated! I am really inspired to save some money so that I can add more money into my daughters savings account. Thanks so much!! =]

Some stores won't even take those spam-type coupons. Try couponmom.com. You can type in the grocery store(s) you use and they will tell you what's on sale that week. E.g., if the store has a 2:1 sale, they will tell you. You can select the things you're interested in, then print out a grocery list for those items. I think that's easier than printing endless coupons. (Not to mention you don't have to worry about using your employer's printer to print coupons.) Costco has the cheapest prices in town, although sometimes the sales in grocery stores are about the same. Next - Walmart. Try those rather than spending time clipping coupons. Buy generic products. They are often made by the same manufacturers as name-brands and they are a lot cheaper. The quality is usually similar. For your freezer: I bought a hand vacuum pump at the grocery store (by Ziplock, Glad has similar), 2 for $5. They use special bags that aren't cheap, but they are easy to use. I have vacuum-packed chicken, frozen it and pulled it 6 months later and it was like I just bought it. I have used this to repackage large packages of breads and meats, with great success. also vegetables--buy bagged vegs, use 1/2 pkg and vacuum-pack the rest. They do stay fresh this way and I don't have to throw food out anymore. Remember, your time is worth something. Don't go running from store to store to save 10 cents. Most of those super clippers don't work, from what I've read. If you have a job, your time is worth money too.

The coupons are a good idea but how about if you set back a dollar a day into savings. Or maybe there is something that you buy often that could be eliminated like a cup of coffee every morning or nail or hair salon appointments. Also buy generic products as much as you can.
