Background Check for Chase Bank?

Chase bank ATM check deposit?

  • I have a check I got from a gambling website and it is for about $2,000. I am going to open up a Chase bank account tomorrow and will try to deposit this check via ATM. Has anyone done this before? I hope my check does not bounce or is viewed as a fraud. The check is real but I was told by my previous bank teller that it looks sketchy because it is from outside of the U.S. My friend has cashed his check from the same place I receive mine using a Chase ATM and the check has cleared. Should I be worried? Has anyone had this happen to them?

  • Answer:

I'm not sure how you would accomplish using an ATM, since you don't have an existing account or ATM card, and the bank doesn't hand cards out on the spot. Sounds like you're concerned about the check clearing. Keep in mind, if a check is deposited in an ATM and bounces, the account holder is responsible for making good on any money withdrawn against that bad check.

No you open an account tomorrow you hand them the check. No sense putting it in an ATM since the bank puts a hold of 10 days or more on that check
