Should I cash my check from AFLAC?

What happens if I cash a check and it is disputed later?

  • Alright, I sold my truck to a guy who paid me with a personal check. The check wasn't his, but written by his brother to me. I went to Wells Fargo (the bank that he belongs to) and they gave me a cashiers check (they said they didn't have enough money on hand to give me cash) in exchange for the personal check. They said that the check cleared right then and there since it was their check. Then I went to my bank and deposited the cashiers check into my account. I've been reading about check scams and was wondering what would happen if the personal check was ever disputed. I don't want to transfer the title and find out later I was a victim of a scam. Is the cash secure in my account or does it sound like a scam?

  • Answer:

Not a scam. You had a cashiers check from Wells Fargo. Anything wrong with that personal check is between the bank and the brother. You got yours

Yes, if it was a cashiers check from wells fargo you are just fine. That means they had the funds to cover it. You cannot ever get a cashiers check unless the bank knowsn you have the funds, so they can write you out one.

have no fear; you have a certifiable cashiers check directly from the bank you want some blood too
