What is the best way to save money?

  • Im trying to save money up for someones brithday to get them loads of presents but i just cant seem to keep money back? Can any body help me out by telling me a good way to keep money away?

    Open a bank account if you haven't already, and deposit the money you want to save each week. If you get an ATM card at all, do not put it in your wallet or take it with you when you go out except for that one trip per week you're making to deposit money. Making your money harder to get at will effectively eliminate all impulse shopping - when you have to go back home to get your bank card or wait for the bank to be open to take out money you really stop and think twice (and three times and four times) if the purchase you wanted to make is really worth it, especially when you consider what your longer-term goals are.
