How To Check Esn Number?

Do I send a business a check number and the check?

  • I am buying a bike part from this company that does not do online orders or take credit card over the phone, only checks. They told me I could email the check number if I wanted to order the part faster since I would have to mail the check across country first. Not sure how you do this? Just email the check number, or do that and mail the check too? Or should I just email the check only?

  • Answer:

I would not put your checking info in an email. Just go ahead and mail them a check with your order. Worst case, snail mail takes 3 to 5 days. Really not that much of a delay.

Contact with them for details.

Call them again and ask for clarification. Some companies will take all your check info, including all the numbers at the bottom of the check and process it similar to a check, so you are debited and they are credited. Then you don't generally need to send a paper check, but be sure to void that, so you don't re-use. Sometimes there is a charge to do that. Often as much as $4-6. Be sure to ask before you commit. If you buy parts frequently, you might tryto set up an account with the company. They would then ship and bill rather than waiting for your payment before shipping.
