Do I need to have money on my paypal account to buy items on ebay?

okay so i just made my paypal account, I added my debit card to it which has money of course when i signed up, now when I buy an item from ebay using paypal will it automatically get the money from my debit card or do I need to have money on my paypal account? thanks

no you dont it will take the money off the debit card
If you have confirmed your debit /credit card, then the payment wil be made from your card. If you haven't, you need to have funds in your account.
