How To Buy Scrap Silver?

If I buy a silver round (junk coin silver) for $35 how much?

• I would not do this, but if I'm dealing with a reputable buyer/seller of metals and bought a junk coin (90% silver) for $35 and then turned around and said "I'd like to now sale this", what will they pay for this piece (assuming silver is at the exact same price as when I buy it). Noting this is a scenario, I obviously am not going to pi$$ a person off buy doing this (even though they probably would not be upset because somewhere they are making a profit). I'm simply ignorant of what buy/sell/spot/asking/ etc. prices mean exactly and merely want to know what/where the markup is for the the business selling the silver. For all I know, the markup is when I buy it and I pay $36 when silver is at $35 and they would pay me the $35 if selling it. If you're smart enough to decipher this, I'm sure you understand what I'm getting at. I have no desire to make quick money. I merely want to understand prices and they way the dealers make their money. If not too much to ask, would there be a difference (or much of one if I was talking about $3,500 worth of junk coins opposed to $35. If you had $1,000 right now (12:20 central standard on Feb 23 and silver is at 35.37 oz) and you HAD to either buy 1,000 dollars in silver and you had to sell it in exactly 3 years or you HAD to put the $1,000 in a 3 year CD at 1.00 apr right now, which would you do.... just for fun i thought was cool question to see variety of answers.   www.apmex.com is a good way to answer these questions. For instance, a $1000 face value bag of junk coins has a bid/ask of $24,396/25,468. So if you bought and then sold it back to them, they would keep about $1000 or about 4%. (They are not going to reimburse shipping and sales tax of course).
