What if my car was stolen and it didnt have insurance. will gap insurance help cover?

I let my friend borrow my car, and it got stolen from his friends house. the car was involded in a three car accident and is totaled. My question is will gap insurance help me pay?

For Gap insurance to cover this, you MUST have car insurance. Gap only comes into play if your car is totaled and YOUR car insurance is not enough, so picks up the gap. So if you let your auto insurance lapse, you are UNINSURED. good luck

Gap will only pay the DIFFERENCE BETWEEN what your insurance pays, and the loan payoff. One of the conditions of GAP coverage, is that you keep primary coverage in force. You violated that condition. Gap should be refunding you premium, pro rata from the date the car was totalled forward, but will NOT be paying any of this claim.
