How To Get Water Bill Online?

Can you get water turned on if a pending bill was sent to collections?

  • I haven't payed a water bill that's been pending for a long time now. Atleast 5 months. I cant pay it till my tax return for financial reasons. But I just called them and they said that it's on my credit report and that it's gonna be for 7 years (great considering I have a child to look after). I currently live at home with my elderly grandma, and in the next 7 years I doubt she'll be around for me to still live at home with her :(. So what I'm basically trying to ask, is when you try and buy an apartment, do they seriously look at your credit and make sure that you don't have bad credit when it comes to the water bill? if you do have bad credit with the water bill, do they usually let it slide? I'm really upset....

  • Answer:

Yes, they seriously look at your credit. I wouldn't worry about buying a place, I'd worry about the water company turning the water on without a huge deposit.

Yes they look at your credit. If you have bad credit they will usually ask for at least one months' charge up front for a deposit (basic minimum monthly charge).

More than likely you would have to get it turned on in somone else's name which will be difficult with an apartment because you generally have to show the lease with your name on it.Or you will have to pay a higher than normal deposit.
