How do I apply for a Key Card?

How often to apply for credit card to build credit?

  • I currently have 2 credit cards, one from Bank of America (Opened in August 2008) and one from Capital One (opened in December 2009). The limit on the Bank of America card is currently at $800- I never asked for an increase in fear of being denied and affecting my score, but I know that a higher limit and low utilization also can be a factor in a good credit score.... My Capital One card just hit 3 months and they increased it automatically due to that "credit steps" program they have- from $500 to $750. My credit card payments are flawless- paid in full, low utilization, and never late. I am currently a college student. I just don't want to apply for one and get some inquiry that will hurt my score, especially when I get turned down. I am thinking of applying for a store credit card, like the Victoria's Secret Angels card or a Bloomingdales card. That's cause I heard that variety is good on a credit report and plus, I get perks. I am a responsible credit card user. :) Please let me know your thoughts, Thanks! Please please please no spam, ads, or rude comments.

  • Answer:

Do not apply for anymore credit cards. The law has changed and unless you are 21 you need a parent to cosign. Use what you have.
