Why is it so hard to use PayPal?

Why doesn't Paypal want me to use a credit card?

  • Hi guys I am trying to buy an item using my paypal account. I have a $25 visa gift card (classified as a credit card) that I am trying to use for the transaction. But it won't let me. First Paypal wants to hit my account balance. So I transfered a part of my paypal balance to my bank so that I had exactly enough so that my balance + the $25 equals what I am . Now it wants to take money from my bank account even before my credit card! This is ridiculous... are they trying to skip on fees or something? What can I do so that I can use my credit card and the paypal balance. Thanks guys.

  • Answer:

PayPal usually rejects pre-paid credit cards. They want you to use a credit card or check account. I hope that helps.

A Visa gift card is NOT a credit card. That is why PayPal is rejecting it. It has been cutting down on accepting these types of cards, since there is so much fraud with them.

If you dont have enough in Paypal, it will take from whichever funding source you have listed first, then goes to the second one for pay for the item. You can switch the order of your backup funding sources in Paypal. Maybe the seller cant take a gift card.
