What happens if I put something up on eBay and someone auctioned on it, but my credit card number changed?

And I haven't put the new credit card number on my paypal account yet? I'm having a new card mailed to me and the auction ends in two hours. My old card's number is invalid. Will the money still go through to my card? If not, what happens? Will they notify me? Or will I have to give away a free phone..?

The funds do not go on your credit card, it will be in paypals account until you withdraw it.

The money you make on Ebay does NOT go on your card or bank account that is registered with PayPal. It goes to your PayPal balance, and if you have your account verified, you can then transfer the money to your bank account. You cannot transfer the money you earn on Ebay to a credit card.
No you don't have to give away a free phone. Simple go into your account settings and change it when you get your card. But for now payment can be made a few other ways like it can go directly to your paypal account balance or have them send you a moneyorder even though ebay doesn't allow it try to negotiate with the buyer let them credit it to your bank account. Just try to explain the situation to the buyer.
