How do I create my own credit card?

Hello, I'm the owner of chain of retail stores and I'd like to create my own credit card - does anyone have any information on how this is done? To give a better idea - you often see things like a Sears card, Delta Airlines card, etc - all of these appear to be done by a formal credit card company (for example Delta's card is technically an American Express). I do NOT want to start a credit card company from scratch - but I would like to have a Master Card (or something) branded with my store, offer special rewards to my customers, and I'd assume you'd share in the profit with the actual card company. Does anyone have any feedback on how this is done? Thanks in advance.

See my source about co-branding. You're not going to make the money off of it you think you will. The value for you is mostly in brand loyalty. Mastercard and the issuing bank will keep most of the direct profits. Becoming an issuer is not an option for you.
