Vanilla visa prepaid gift card?

Can someone please help me solve this annoying issue. I'm planning to buy a visa prepaid gift card for my nephew so he can buy things in amazon. but i was wondering does he need to add his SS and more personal info into this prepaid gift card? or he can just use it for he want.. (in this case buying something that only cost 35.) anyone? thanks..

I don't think amazon will accept gift cards as payment.

because it will be declined if he doesn't when you use any type of credit card -including gift card there is a credit verification system that comes into play it verifies the information from the credit card to see if matches the name and address on file with the card issuer
