Does T-Mobile charge a late payment fee?

Are banks allowed to charge you a late payment fee when it has agreed to defer your repayments for a set term?

  • I have a personal loan with a bank. I am obligated to make monthly repayments on this loan. On my request, the bank agreed to defer my repayments for several months. I was charged late payment fees for each of these months. I was not informed that I would be charged these fees. I was, however, aware that missing a payment incurs a late payment fee. I am wondering, is the bank allowed to charge me 'late payment' fees for missing a payment date, for a payment I was not obligated to make? Also, is the bank required to inform me that the agreement I entered into, ie for the payments to be deferred, would require me to pay late payment fees?

  • Answer:

NO! THEY CANNOT DO THAT! i have three student loans. i deferred payments on the first two for six months each at first and then three months again later on. they cannot and should not charge a late fee. call or visit the bank asap and speak with a rep. they will most likely waive them. dont pay them.

If the payments were past the due date, they can charge you for the late fees. They will also charge you for add'l interest every day past that due date.. It's called per-diem
