How does Paypal work?

How does purchases in PayPal work?

  • I just recently created a PayPal account because one of my colleagues told me it was more easier to purchase items online. I haven't bought anything via PayPal yet, but how does it work? If I want to buy an item, I know I'll get sent to PayPal if I use via. But my main point is: When the transaction is made, will it also go to my bank account I have on my credit card as well or will it just transact on PayPal? Also, what will it say on my bank transaction? Will it say the site that I bought the product or will it just say PayPal transaction?

  • Answer:

When you sign up for PayPal, you have to add a credit card or bank account and verify it. Those 2 accounts have to be in your name. When you make a purchase on PayPal, and choose to fund the purchase with your credit card or bank account the purchase will have the name of the merchant you purchased from, not the name PayPal.

Paypal works as a transaction agency.. During your registration with Paypal you need to register our credit card in it., As a service charge they will charge $1.50 and they credit the same amount in your paypal account.. During Purchase thru paypal, Instead of directly debiting from your bank account, paypal will pay it and they debit from your registered credit card.. It is like one more handling of money.. there is no any risk involved in that.. they are getting job/ commission in such transactions.. Also some online shopping websites offer discounts for purchasing thru paypal.. Read well before purchasing.. All the best.. Tnx..

Using your CC is far safer then dealing with a 3rd party like paypal. You have federal law protecting your CC information and limited liability to theft. If you have a gold card you have purchase protection and extra warranty there is nothing better then a real credit card for purchases

If you have funds in paypal, the transaction will only show on paypal's end. If you use a debit or credit card and paypal is the processor you use, then your credit or debit card would say something like "paypal purchase...gotta have this store...amount X"
