What is involved in" Nailing a writ to the mast of a boat"?
-
Please no funnies about 6 inch nails. It's a term but the attaching a writ is very real. Anyone help?
-
Answer:
In UK the rule it that the writ is attached to the superstructure. it does not say how. I used to use put it in a clear folder showing the front of the arrest warrant and writ and using sellotape (all 4 sides of the folder) attach it it the the window of the bridge door. I would then swear an affidavit saying exactly what I had done and when. The idea of six inch nails is a bit difficult when you have metal masts etc and sellotape does not stick easily on steel. I never tried blue tac so I can not suggest it.
