How long should I wait before I call for my application check up?

I just got an interview a few days ago, and they promised to call me on wednesday which is today. It's about 5:20 pm here and I still havent gotten a call. I just wanted to know how long I should wait until I call them for the check up?

Answer:
DON'T CALL. I know this goes against your instincts, but if they didn't call you its for a reason, maybe they're busy today. Strange as it may seem, management is made up of actual people, and they get annoyed if people keep bugging them about sh*t
