When should I apply for a best buy store credit card?

Hello! So I've had my Wells Fargo College Credit Card for 4 statements paid on time. 5th statement coming up soon. I'm a freshmen in college and have maintained a full-time/ part-time during school job for 7 months and continuing. I haven't missed a payment or have never been late on my internet cable bill / car insurance bill / gym membership. I applied for the best buy credit card into my third month and for obvious reasons got declined. I'm currently waiting for the iPad 3 to come out. When should be the earliest that I apply for the best buy credit card again? I'd love to build credit in addition to my bank credit card, while having 18 months financing to pay off the iPad 3, which hasn't been released yet.

The reason you got declined could be for 3 possible reasons. Under Obama's Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009, anyone under the age of 21 cannot apply for a credit card without a cosigner or you have sufficient income to cover the payments. Now you may have sufficient income to cover the payments but if your credit history is short, you can be declined because of your lack of credit history.
