Why did I get denied for student loans?

Why did i get denied for student loans?

  • I am a sophomore in college and i never got student loans last year and this year i applied and i was denied because i have "to many opened accounts with balances" but i don't have any accounts. i don't have any credit. could it be because i owe around 4000 dollars to the school from last year and its in my name?

  • Answer:

Why don't you find out what is in all three of your credit reports at Annual Credit Report.com All three reports are fee once a year. Do not get conned by tv commericials that will charge you for them. This way you can see what in the world is affecting your credit Owing $4,000 should not be a problem, as long as you are in a payment schedule and making payments ontime

Could be that, but instead of *guessing* why, get a copy of your credit report http://www.annualcreditreport.com and LOOK at it to see what accounts they may be referring to. You may find that someone may have opened accounts in your name and you have no idea about it.
