Where can i cash a personal check besides at the bank?

Where can I cash a personal out of state check, besides a bank? I've tried everything!?

  • My brother sent me a check as a gift from another state. I've called liquor stores, Walmart, check cashing stores, and nobody will cash it. Any ideas? HELP! Please don't suggest opening a bank account; I already have one, I can't use it to cash this particular check. I need ideas on who else might cash it.

    You're pretty much out of luck. If check cashing places won't touch it, and you can't go to your bank...with all due respect those are two giant warning signs why someone wouldn't take it. Your brother would have been better off sending you a money order.
