Need help using gift card on paypal?

  • i DONT have a paypal account but im willing to get one. I'm NOT willing to add bank or credit card details on paypal. Its only a ONE TIME thing, get what i want with the gift card. they never see me again. how do i do it?

    You cannot use a Paypal account to purchase something without "verifying" it, in other words, giving Paypal either a back account or credit card to validate that you are who you say you are. An anonymous gift card does not prove you're John Doe, and it does not make it possible to pursue you if you default on a payment. The entire reason Paypal is so secure and trusted is the fact that all active users must have their identities verified. If you're unwilling to give out any of that information, perhaps contact the seller that you're looking to buy from (I assume you're using Ebay?) and ask them if they'd be willing to let you mail them the gift card, and take that as a form of payment. Otherwise, you're out of luck.

You cannot use a gift card on PayPal, unless it is has Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express logo (e.g., debit gift card or something similar). Otherwise, you can only use the card at the store for which was purchased, whether online or physical.
