A few questions about buying off ebay using paypal?

  • Ok so if i link my checking account to paypal and they verify it can i start buying things immediately or do i have to wait a few days? what if my paypal balance is 0$ but i have money in my checking account will that matter? ive heard it takes longer for the person your buying off of to get there money if your paypal funds are 0$ but you have the money in your checking account is that true? If i put money into my checking account how long does it take for it to get in my paypal account is it instant?

    If you can, attach a credit card to paypal. The reason is, if you have a credit card attached, you can leave your paypal account as $0 and pay as you go, without any further delay. If you do not attach a credit card, paypal will not pay the seller until they have transferred the money from your bank account and that can take 3-5 days.

1. it can start immediately if you give them your log in information to your online banking or it can start after they make small deposits into your acct and then you log back in to paypal to verify the deposits 2. paypal will pull from your checking account 3. that is true, the funds have to process and it does take a while vs having the funds in your paypal acct at the time of purchase 4. it takes typically 3-4 business days from the day you tell paypal to transfer money from your bank acct to your paypal acct. It is definitely not instant. Regarding the credit card suggestion. I have 2 paypal accounts, one to transfer money using my bank accounts and the other strictly for credit card purchases on ebay. Paypal does not have a good system and continuously pulled money from my bank account when I had a credit card attached to it. The customer service rep asked me "did you choose credit card as your source?" I of course said yes, but paypal continued to mess it up and the rep knew exactly what my problem was and encouraged me to have 2 paypal accounts.
