Why is there less items on ebay?

• I am a frequent ebay buyer and occasionally I will sell something, anyways I look up laptops for parts or repair because I will fix them and give to family members and the prices are usually great. So I did a search on laptop for repair or parts and I had gotten this many results 905 when I used ebay about 3 months ago there was more like 6000 results after performing a search. The items seem to be selling because there is lots of bidders wanting the item and probably they are paying more for a broken laptop then before because all the competition is gone, so has shipping became more costly or ebay taking a greater percentage after sells? It seems that ebay is working with corporate company's to sell their product then the average ebay seller? Also if any of things are the problem why don't they enable advertisements on their page so they can save the seller some cash on seller fees? I like buying used things and better than dealing with someone on craigslist, cause I have met horrible sellers on craigslist and have gotten ripped off, on ebay I have always got top notch service and even able to return items, that didn't meet criteria. Although shopping on craigslist for big items pans out better because most of the time it turns out they are moving. Anyways tell me what you think?
