My UPS shipment is going backwards?

UPS..theft/fraud...Package flagged??? What does this mean?

  • Long story short as possible..On July 1, I shipped a pkg. form a UPS store in the Richmond, VA are to central MS. It was suppose to be a called for pick-up. After flying home, I realized I wasn't called. I called customer service and tracked the pkg.... to find it was being shipped back to the store... Anyone who has ever dealt with them after bad service, knows this was a horrible experience, after about 10+ calls back and forth. I finally convinced them that they should at least ship my pkg or refund my money back for their mistake(so that I could repay the store to ship it again), not contacting me, being rude(usually I could care less about attitudes, but these ppl behaved like low-level street thugs), and not giving me the service I paid for. The "supervisor" at the local facility made excuses (We were understaffed, you need to talk back to the store, we don't have your money...blah..blah..getting of subject and defensive) I simply wanted to know what happened? On the second shipment the store insured & photographed my contents and resealed and shipped it back. I watched the tracking 2x's daily. When the package arrived, I got a call from a clerk that morning saying it was there, told her I would be there during Afternoon pick-up hours. Got there, the "supervisor" said the package had an intercept (per the shipper) and was redirected. Again I started repeating the story(I'm the shipper via UPS store...blah..blah) She said "someone tried to call you but you were unavailable"...I asked her who, she said she didn't know, told her about the call that morning....summed up, she stoned walled all my logic questions.. I called the store back, the guy said B-S!! Out of courtesy he called corporate, had the pkg relabeled and shipped,(it was in a hub far off tract in KY) and the pkg begin moving back to it's original pick-up site. I thanked him.He told me to "be careful and arrive immediately when that pkg got there, as there is obviously something wrong with that site." Trip 3 back: I arrived as soon as the site was open...the staff brought me a pkg that was about 1/3 the size of my original, was re-boxed with the same tracking, duplicate shipping slip w/the original weight, and my telephone # slip.."I asked where's the rest of it...does this look like 12lbs in your opinion?" The guy said "no."...The office clerk then snatched it from me and said they couldn't deliver b/c security had "flagged it as fraud"...I asked what does that mean???!!! They gave me examples of ppl making fraudulent CC purchases and stolen cells...etc...i told them I own& paid for all of it and I still have my receipts...They said contact the shipper, called the store back they agreed something was wrong, that it was not my box, and they had the photos to prove it. I agreed, they advised me to go home they would call me after talking to corporate....45minutes later I get a call from the pick-up site yhat my pkg arrived...got there and guess what? it was my real box!!! The undisputed truth is....someone created that fake box, who & why I have no idea...When I got home, curiously, I looked at the tracking. The scan time was for the fake box, they didn't scan my real box when I got it. I thought that was strange. I told another person this story. When I got to the fake/fraud part...they said..."I don't think your original left that site the second time."..I laughed and agreed...Does anyone know what this means?? Props to the UPS store guy (Leroy) for going above & beyond...If it wasn't for him, I would have never got my pkg...

  • Answer:

This is something you need to report to UPS's corporate office. Seriously. I would not be emotional - just lay out the facts and send a letter (not email) to the company CEO. Stick with the facts - dates, address of store, name of person you spoke to, etc.
