    yes in most cases. this is a huge literature. you need to do a lot of reading i cant write the essay for you, but here are some key themes which you should address. i'll give you a summary. there is usually always a conflict of interest especially in large firms because of the agenecy theory. there are many stakeholders in a firm, and different stakeholders have different goals they wish to achieve in the firm. often many executive managers who make some CSR decisions fail to make rational decisions which will benefit the firm's overall reputation and brand recognition in the market because of their own personal desires/goals. this is referred to as bounded rationality (im sure its simmons 1960 who cam eup with this theory). usually these 'personal' goals are to enhance their own status/promotion level at work, their earnings and their business portfolio of contacts. i wrote this from the top of my head no internet involved. i want 10 points

Absolutely. The entire point of a business is to generate a profit for the owners/shareholders. They have no legal obligation to anyone to be socially responsible. So to place that responsibility onto an entity who's main goal is to look out for their own financial well-being is a HUGE conflict.
