How do you reply to feedback left on ebay?

Ebay - I left negative feedback and I'm being threaten of being reported. Help?

  • Yesterday on eBay, I had taken part in an auction for the Boondocks Seasons 1-3. I managed to win the auction at $15.50 and paid the price. About an hour later, I got a message from eBay stating that the seller refunded my money and a comment from the seller saying that he had sold the DVDs to someone offline. So I left negative feedback for the seller basically saying "Bought the item. The seller didn't have it. Disappointed." He sent another message asking me why did I leave negative feedback and said "ill just report you to ebay for giving me negative feedback for no reason." I was not in the wrong correct? I look at this as if I were at a store: If I bought a movie, paid for it and learned "we don't have it," I'm obviously going to leave negative feedback. I did however send a reply, explaining my frustration to him, but since he DID refund my money, I would be willing to revise it to a neutral feedback if he sent me a revision request. So what are your thoughts on this situation?

I've only used eBay once, so I'm no expert, but I scrolled through the rules and found the place where there was information that indicated that the seller did break the rules. I say negative. Sorry, I lost where it was located. "Product Availability" What not to do: You're not allowed to: List an item that may be out of stock at the time of purchase. List an item that you're simultaneously selling outside of eBay. Offer an item that may not be what's delivered to the buyer

You shouldn't have negged him, that was clearly a Neutral situation. Sure you were inconvenienced, but not actually ripped off or out of pocket in any way. Neutral.

Hi, You can leave feedback since you were not happy with the transaction. But the seller has contacted you and said the reason for refund. But they cannot threaten you.
