HELP!!! Ebay problem?
-
Hi, i have a problem with something i sold on eBay and the buyer, and i have no idea how to resolve it. The product sold was a Virgin box, i checked it was working perfectly multiple times and i sent it off straight away after i received payment. When the buyer received the product, he said that it was broken and useless, left negative feedback and open a eBay case without contacting me first. I apologized profusely and told the buyer I had no problem issuing a refund if they returned the product to me. They apologized for being rude beforehand and asked if the reason it wasn't working was because they didn't have a virgin card or superscription!!! This annoyed me further but i stayed polite and assured them that yes the product was working and would not work if they didn't have a superscription. I asked them if they still wanted to return the item on the 21st of jan, still didn't receive a reply by the 2nd of feb. I tried to ask them to withdraw their negative feedback as the product was working perfectly and they didn’t fully understand what was required for it to work. They declined to revise the feedback. I’ve also looked into my PayPal account and have realised that the buyer has frozen the payment because the eBay case is still open. He won’t contact me back, and I’m starting to think that I’ll never receive the item I sent, back, or the payment. As well as the fact that I now have negative feedback for the first time, for no good reason. Also I can’t open the eBay case more for an unpaid item because it has technically been paid but held. This has caused me a lot of stress and I just want it resolved. Is there anyone out there that can give me advice on what to do? PLEASE!!!

Answer:
You contact eBay to tell them the person who received it is delaying action on their side and you wish to resolve this. The customer will not return the product to you. It's basically stuck because the other person will not do anything to resolve this.

Email e-bay what the buyer has done ( i.e raised a case cos they dont understand what they have bought and you have not been paid for it) and that they have given bad feedback cos of THEIR ignorance, then ask when are they going to release the funds (its like buying a battery powered device when you dont have any batteries then refusing to pay for it and then complaining about the seller) (LEGALLY e-bay have no right to freeze the funds.in the first place. Technically and legally it AINT been paid. It AINT been paid until YOU have free access to the funds) Personally I would not accept them returning the goods.. They bought them, they pay for them It aint your fault or problem they dont know what they bought )
Negative feedback is not a big deal. If you are decent in your transactions then the majority of feedback will attest to this. You should really check the ebay/paypal help site about this or the ebay forums. If a case is open then both sides are allowed to submit info regarding the case and presumably you have the email from the buyer saved. Those, in addition to lack of buyer communication should be enough to get the case resolved in your favour.
I am sure if Virgin Media discovered you were illegally selling one of their cable boxes, you would find yourself in court pretty quick. Virgin Media boxes are supplied to active customers and have to be returned to Virgin Media if the customer closes his/her account. It is not legally possible for anyone to own a Virgin Media box
