How do I address a letter?

How to address cover letter?

  • I am writing a cover letter for a summer internship to Goldman Sachs. Now a question that I came across is how do I address my cover letter and what do I write on the top? How do I find people who are responsible for recruiting especially if I am applying to 2 different locations? Thank you.

  • Answer:

Call the company and ASK!!! You need to get the address and the correct name of the company and the exact and correct spelling of the hiring authority in both places. Then address it like this: XYZ company Attention: Joan Jones- department of happy hiring 123 Somewhere Street Any town, USA 98765-431 When you call, tell the person on the phone that you are sending in a resume for the summer internship in X department, so the person doesn't think you are a salesman, you'll get the information you want.

t information. Always format a cover letter correctly. The candidate's name and contact information (e-mail, phone and street address) should appear on flushed left on the document or in the body of the email. Hit the space bar twice so that you are writing directly beneath your own contact information. If available, write the contact information for the company. Press the space bar twice again and start the cover letter by addressing the appropriate contact. This may be a specific contact you have for the company, the general company name or the human resources department.
