This is the article and i didnt get the reason for the first line. If anyone can help me ill be really thankful Falling demand leads to lower gas prices By Karen Voyles Staff writer Published: Monday, March 22, 2010 at 8:37 a.m. Last Modified: Monday, March 22, 2010 at 8:37 a.m. Demand for gasoline fell slightly over the past week while prices at the pump rose fractionally. At least two analysts predict gas prices are unlikely to hit $3 across much of the nation during the spring and summer driving seasons unless something threatens the gas supply. Average gas prices in Florida: Current - $2.850 Week Ago - $2.844 Month Ago - $2.661 Year Ago - $1.992 Source: AAA Demand for gasoline fell by one percent nationwide over the past week, according to MasterCard Inc. On Sunday, Trilby Lundberg, an internationally recognized independent gasoline analyst, said it appears that “Supply is still strong and demand is still weak, plus there is an additional twenty percent or one-fifth of refining capacity waiting in the wings hoping for better economics.” She also said that those factors all indicate gas prices should be stabilizing or falling slightly. Jessica Brady, manager of Public and Government Relations for AAA said she was not surprised to see the price of crude oil fall over the past week because "Basic fundamentals do not support these high prices. A stronger dollar coupled with a report that shows U.S. fuel consumption is down is a cocktail that is sure to bring down the price of crude oil."

I like the analysis you have put into your question. I agree that gasoline should be a supply and demand thing. There are so many other factors other than supply and demand in the solution of price for gasoline. Politics places an important part. I believe, gut feeling, that gas will rise to almost 4 dollar levels before the summer is over. There are a lot of political summits that are going on right now that will enhance the political level of gas. Great Question, hope you get some economic answers.
