Taking drivers test soon and need some questions answered?
-
Im taking my drivers test in about 6 weeks but I would like to ask you some questions about when you take you drivers test. I live in New Jersey by the way 1. When you take your drivers test do you take your own car or do they have one there that you use 2. This ones kind of hard to explain so Ill do the best I can. Say your coming out of a store or whatever and your about to head onto the road I was told you go into the passing lane first then merge over to the right side it this true? 3. When changing lanes I know your suppose to check all your mirrors but do you also have to turn your head and look over your should before merging over

Answer:
1. You have to have your own car. This is because you'll know how it drives, and you'll know where the buttons and stuff are located (they'll ask you to turn on your defrosters, emergency breaks, lights, etc., which is really only fair to ask if you're in your own car, because the locations for these are different in different cars). 2. You have to stay in your lane. If you have two left-turn lanes side by side, and you're in the right one, you stay in your right lane when you turn onto the next road. If you were in the left lane, you stay left. If you just have on left-turn lane intersecting a two-lane road, you stay on the left-most lane (the inner lane), and then switch to the right lane once you drive a few feet forward. You can't change lanes in the middle of an intersection, so that applies to switching lanes while turning. 3. You check your rear-view mirror, the appropriate side mirror, and you look over your shoulder. This is because there is a blind spot where your both your side and rear-view mirrors don't show. When you look over your shoulder, you'll be able to see the car through either the right or left backseat window. People aren't supposed to drive in other cars' blind spots (it's just something bad drivers do). If you didn't check your blindspot, chances are you'll most likely hit this car or get pretty close to hitting it while changing lanes.

Other answers
1. You provide your own vehicle. 2. You go to the lane that is free enough for you to get in. If you need to merge than you merge. 3. Yes, there might be a driver in your blind spot.
