Can I use mud and snow rally tyres legally on the road in Germany and across Europe?
-
Hi, I'm planing a trip over to Germany, taking the ferry from Dover to Dunkirk, so I will be travelling through a little of france, Belgium and on into germany. It will be in December so I need winter tyres on the car by law. I just wonder if these need to show the 'snowflake' symbol or have any other markings or if I could use some mud and snow rally tyres as these are far superior in the snow and a lot cheaper!

Answer:
Winter = Snowflake symbol. M+S symbol does not = winter
