What is the process of getting a license?

What is the process of getting a permit and license.. (drivers ed, etc.) ?

  • I can get my permit in March, and my license in September; I have no clue how this works.. Can anyone walk me through what happens? My parents did not explain it well, i'm so confused. Also, at school tomorrow we can go sign up, i think, for drivers ed, im not sure if i should go check it out, they didn't give us details on it, or should i just take it online? help?

    This depends on what country you're from, and what state(I'm presuming that you are an American). But basically it's like this: You go to the DMV(department of motor vehicles), take a quick test and you get a permit. This means you can practice with your parents i.e. Then you complete your drivers ed. After this is complete, you have to take a practical exam. When and if you pass this exam, you will get your license. Good luck on your license. And remember, it's better to get somewhere in reasonable time, than to get to the morgue really fast ;) Drive safe.

Driver's ed basically goes through everything in the little manual. You can go if you want to. Since you are confused, you probably should(hopefully you did since this aswer is kinda late). If not, then stop by the DMV and read through the little manual and ask questions to your parents, or anyone you know that is a designated driver. Then when you feel good about it, take the test, i think you have like 3 tries or so and you can get 8 wrong. it might have changed but you can also call the DMV and ask. hope it helps. :)

well you need to take drivers ed class, then when your done they will give you a certificate. after that, you need to sign up for behind the wheel...they will give you a certificate for enrollement. then you take those two certificate to the dmv to take the written test. when you pass, you will wait 6 months to take your drivers test. if you pass it, then you will get your license. you should do it online, its very simple. go to www.driveredtogo.com use this code for a discount:X22-AF6-A8M your certificate will be sent home once your finished. its easy, and you do it at your own pace. i used this website a few months ago, and i only missed 2 on my written test.(you can only miss 8)
