How long will it take before I am able to get my license?

How long will it take me to get my driver's license at 19 years old?

• Circumstances have made it REALLY hard for me to get my license up until now. I'm going to be 19 in 2 weeks and and I've never even attempted in the slightest bit to get my license until now. And I can barely drive. I just feel like such a loser..... whatever. So from the moment I first walk into the DMV asking about my license to the moment I receive my license in the mail, how long should that take? Also, Iive in California.

  Make an appointment for both tests online & remember to take the numbers they assign you. You shouldn't feel so bad I'm turning 19 in a month and I barely took the behind the wheel test last week. The written test consists of about 40 multiple choice questions, if you read the handbook you should be able to pass. After you pass the written exam you can choose to take the driving behind the wheel test the same day or any other day. They will give you a permit after you pass the written exam that will allow you to drive on the streets (with an adult 18ys or older) I took the driving test and it wasn't so hard. I was nervous but they don't make you go on the freeway or make u-turns. *Remember your had signals because they will ask you. Also they'll take your picture the day you take the written exam so look your best & good luck!
