What would cause this grinding noise?
-
I own an atv, Honda Rubicon Trail Edition '06. I recently went for a ride but when I accelerated I heard a grinding noise. I stopped and checked it out to see if it might have just been broken plastic rubbing on something but it wasn't. I put it in park, reved it up and no noise. I put it in drive, slowly accelerated and this grinding noise returned. Anyone out there with any experience in small engine repair? Need your help right away.

Answer:
06 Rubicons are Hydromechanical. I'd check the oil pressure. Similar situation with many Rubicon users (my father included). Check the pressure, and see if the pump is working to capacity.
